The Pure Collagen Wound Dressing
mediCipio C is a modern wound-healing product made from pure bio-porcine collagen.
Its special pore structure promotes exudate absorption, maintains a moist wound environment, and positively influences all phases of wound healing. mediCipio C is completely absorbed, making dressing changes simple and typically completely atraumatic and painless.
Applications
mediCipio C is indicated for the treatment of superficial, slow-healing wounds and acute traumatic defects. This collagen product is particularly suitable for use in chronic wounds, such as those associated with pressure ulcers, chronic venous insufficiency, peripheral arterial disease, or diabetic foot syndrome.
In addition, mediCipio C is used to treat surgical tissue defects—such as to cover split-thickness skin grafts—as well as wound cavities, fistulas, and burn wounds. Thanks to its structured collagen matrix, it supports a physiological wound environment and promotes natural wound healing.

Collagen
Wound healing with a future
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. It is a key component of the skin and connective tissue, giving them exceptional tensile strength. Furthermore, this native biomolecule plays a vital role in the body’s wound-healing processes.
Collagen is an indispensable component of modern wound care. medichema GmbH uses porcine collagen as the raw material for its product lines. This collagen is extracted, purified, and further processed using a special method.
These products are characterized by a unique physical scaffold structure and have a positive effect on all phases of wound healing. During the exudative/inflammatory phase, the wound exudate—along with the proteases it contains—is absorbed. Gel formation also occurs, creating a moist wound environment. Additionally, collagen promotes hemostasis during this phase. During the granulation and epithelialization phases, our collagen products facilitate the migration of macrophages and fibroblasts, which accelerate the body’s own collagen synthesis. The proliferation and migration of epithelial cells are also promoted, which facilitates faster wound closure. Because our products are completely biodegradable, dressing changes are simplified, and painful removal of the wound dressing may not be necessary.
